SUMMARY 
Employee that will accurately & efficiently perform in a professional environment and is the “face of Somerset Trust Company” to our retail branch customers by providing personable, quick service performing a set of regular procedures, as well as a variety of customer requests & transactions, including, but not limited to: check cashing and deposits, loan payments, product explanation and being able to identify opportunities to refer customers as needed. Employee will clearly & respectfully communicate with customers and have ability to resolve customer issues as they arise. 
 
QUALIFICATIONS

Receives checks and cash for deposit, verifies amount, and examines checks for endorsements. Cashes checks and pays out money after verification of signatures and customer balances. Enters customers' transactions into computer to record transactions, and issues computer generated receipts.
Balances currency, coin, and checks in cash drawer at end of shift and compares totaled amounts with data displayed on computer screen.
Recognizes opportunities to explain, promote, or sell financial products or services offered by the bank.
Removes deposits from, and counts and balances cash in, and night depository.
Accepts loan payments.
Resolve customers issues as they arise.
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedures, operating and maintenance instructions, and security procedures. Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully communicate with customers or coworkers. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Ability to apply common sense to perform assigned duties and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Displays an eagerness & ability to learn, efficiently use the technology provided, and is receptive to new ideas.

 

SUMMARY
As a Mortgage Processor you will prepare and process mortgage loan files from application through closing. This will involve obtaining all necessary documentation as well as ensuring compliance with bank, regulatory and investor guidelines and customer service standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Processors partner with Originators and Underwriters to actively manage their individual loan pipeline, ensuring key dates and benchmarks, as well as production standards are met.
  • Review loan files for completeness prior to submission to underwriting.
  • Reviewing and verifying each file to ensure that all information is correct and current.
  • Gathers and organizes residential mortgage documentation by collecting sales contracts, credit reports, Internal Revenue Service (IRS) tax transcripts, appraisals, title commitments, flood certificates, etc, according to established policies and procedures.
  • Acting as a liaison and maintaining communication between customers and all parties involved in the transaction.
  • Processors gather information for loan conditions and submissions for final loan approval; communicate loan statuses to Originators, Underwriters, and Secondary Market personnel.
  • Preparing approved loans for closing and coordinating closing with lenders, borrowers and title companies.
  • Ordering necessary VOE’s, VOD’s, VOM’s, subordination requests, etc.
  • Prioritize workflow so loans close on time.
  • Provides excellent customer service to borrower, loan officer, vendors, realtors, attorneys, and other interested parties.
  • Sends out approval and denial letters.
  • Records date on the status of loans at weekly mortgage meetings.
  • All operations have specific deadlines to meet or exceed.
  • Post-closing procedures such as: Booking loan to Somerset Trust Company core operating system. Packaging loans sold to Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency and obtain guarantees from USDA.
  • Provide strong support to other mortgage processors on a daily basis.
  • Work closely with STC Settlement Services to meet their needs.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities; however, you will provide general information, training, direction and assistance to mortgage loan processors who have less experience.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) Good understanding of financial institution products and services. 1+ years Residential Mortgage loan processing experience a plus. Basic understanding of loan processing and closing policies, procedures, documents, underwriting requirements, government and agency requirements, and terminology.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products, Internet Explorer, and bank core operating system. The ability to work with various browser based systems and software systems is mandatory. Must be willing to learn new systems and not have any issues with emerging technology.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret various documents such as procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondence. Possesses excellent organization skills, the ability to read and interpret reports, and works quickly and efficiently while providing the utmost accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as rates, discounts, interest, and percentages. Ability to interpret and analyze data.
REASONING ABILITY
Capable of working under pressure from internal and external customers to meet deadlines, and maintaining a high degree of diplomacy and tact. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
