New Bank Opens in New Florence

Somerset Trust Company opened its newest bank branch in New Florence. Located at 161 12th Street in the Borough, the bank offers full service lobby and drive-up service.
When residents and businesses of the community received notification earlier this year that another bank located in the borough was closing, community leaders contacted Somerset Trust and presented the bank with over 600 signatures from residents in New Florence and the surrounding area asking the bank to establish a new bank branch in New Florence.
“We were overwhelmed with the efforts of the local leaders, residents and businesses of the area to make sure a local bank would continue to provide them with banking services,” commented G. Henry Cook, Somerset Trust Company CEO and Chairman. “Their strong sense of commitment to the community combined with our mission as a community bank makes for a good partnership. We pledge to be good citizens of this long-standing, traditional small town.”
The New Florence location is Somerset Trust’s 34th bank branch. In addition to convenient neighborhood hours including Saturday, the bank offers an ATM and coin counter for customer convenience. Customers also have access to an expanding ATM network in the region.
