Somerset Trust Company to Open Branch in Connellsville
February 22, 2013

Somerset Trust Company is pleased to announce it will open a new branch in the Connellsville area in early March. The location for the new branch will be inside Walmart on Morrell Avenue.

“We are impressed with the Connellsville market and the response we received after talking with business owners and community leaders. We feel there is a strong sense of commitment to the community. Combined with our mission as a local bank, we believe a strong partnership will develop between our bank and the Connellsville area,” said President and CEO G. Henry Cook.
The bank’s branch inside Walmart will provide the convenience of being open seven days a week. The branch will be a full service one, providing traditional banking services, and also specialty banking services for businesses and merchants, such as credit card processing, direct deposit of payroll, and small business lending.
Branch hours will be Monday through Friday, 9 am to 7 pm, Saturday, 9 am to 3 pm and Sunday, 11 am to 3 pm. In addition to extended hours, the new branch will offer a coin counting machine and an ATM.
“We are pleased to make this announcement for Connellsville. We look forward to serving our current customers and gaining new ones by providing more convenient access to banking services,” commented Cook.
Somerset Trust Company is headquartered in Somerset at 151 West Main Street. With the addition of the Connellsville Branch inside Walmart, the bank has 22 branches serving communities in Somerset County, the greater Johnstown area, and portions of Fayette, Westmoreland, and Bedford Counties along with an extensive network of ATMs serving customers throughout the Laurel Highlands and Southern Alleghenies region.
In 2012, the bank was named among the top 200 banks listed by American Banker for the third consecutive year. Among the thousands of financial institutions that qualify for the ranking, Somerset Trust placed 36 on the list. The bank also ranked Number 2 among businesses in the entire state of Pennsylvania on the “Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania” list.
“Our passion for our customers and the communities where we are located is steadfast,” said Cook.
